Mozsár is built on precise geometric forms and draws visual inspiration, though not strictly, from the constructivist design movement to create a bold and distinctive font.

Each Latin glyph and number includes two stylistic variations that alternate in a pseudo-randomized way. When used in most text editing software with contextual alternates enabled, this feature introduces a dynamic and rhythmic texture to the text while preserving visual coherence.

Originally conceived as an experimental departure from classical typographic rules by intentionally breaking many conventions, the typeface has since been refined through the integration of established practices to accommodate broader usability.

Fun fact: Mozsár (meaning mortar in English) is named after Mozsár Café, a venue in downtown Budapest that had a bohemian spirit.
